Spring Break May'10
The Spring Break of the Senior and Comrades was once again held in the Causeway Hotel from 4th - 7th May and as usual the facilities, food and service were excellent.
We had a wonderful time of Christian fellowship and fun with 41 friends with us this year and others joining us for evening meals and to enjoy the evening programmes. Unfortunately 5 friends who had booked had to cancel because of illness.
The weather was lovely ad we enjoyed the scenery and of course the shopping trips. However, our times of worship together were very special and everyone was so willing to take part. Mr. Gerry McIlveen encouraged us in our singing and we even had drums this year! Mr. Arnold Sleator, Mrs. Olive Gardiner and Mrs. Janie Ferguson led our three sessions of "Thought for the Day" and on Wednesday evening we were so privileged to have Rev. Drew McConnell of 1st Limavady Pres. Church with us.
Mrs. Barbara Lowry interviewed Drew and he brought us a very challenging message through the interview and also we enjoyed his beautiful solos and guitar playing
On Thursday evening we enjoyed our usual concert with many taking part and we had a hilarious time, especially with a couple of visitors we had difficulty in recognising!!
After this we had our C.E Meeting which took the form of a Shipwreck Meeting. We were delighted that so many took part and we were all truly blessed.
Unfortunately all good things come to an end and Friday morning seemed to come so quickly. On behalf of all those who were there I would like to again express sincere thanks to Mrs. Barbara Lowry, Senior and Comrades Convener, for all her careful and thoughtful planning for these few days.
Words just cannot convey just how special these few days are and I would recommend this Break to anyone free to come. Do plan to come next May and experience all this for yourself.
Janie Ferguson
