What are they:

Steroids taken without a prescription is illegal and they are a stimulant drug. They help build up muscles which is why some sports people take them.  They can increase aggression and sex drive.

Effects:

There is the possible threat of liver and heart damage and in adolescents they may stunt growth. They may cause physical changes in males and females.
