Summer camp 2010

Junior CE Camp was held from 17th to 23rd July in Crawfordsburn Scout Centre.  Our theme was 'Groundbreakers' and every evening meeting we looked at a different 'Groundbreaker' in the Bible, Abraham, Jonah, Nehemiah, Elijah, Hezekiah and Jesus.   'Camp News' was also broadcast during this, it was presented by Bill Board and Don Key who brought us up to date on everything that had happened throughout the day (100% accurately of course).  They were joined by a time travelling reporter, Tabitha Travell, who went back in time to meet other Groundbreakers like Katherine and William Booth who founded the Salvation Army and a few others. Unfortunately she wasn't very good at finding the people she wanted but her interviews with the eye-witnesses where just as informative.  On the last night there was a weather forecast with 'Sonny Days' like you've never seen before and hopefully never will again (four interactive seasons in 2 minutes).

Throughout the week we did activities both on and off-site. On the Monday we went to W5 and on Wednesday to Lisburn for swimming and shopping.  Tuesday we did the assault course and on Thursday everyone had the choice of archery, climbing tower or crate climbing.

It was a great week for all.
