Presidential Diary – Gillian Ferguson 2010/ 2011

29th January 2011

I was encouraged by the attendance at this meeting.  Plans were made for up coming events in the Irish Union for Juniors, YPs, YAs and Seniors.

There are reports of new societies being formed over the year and doing well.

Please continue to pray for all those involved in leadership at Irish Union level and the decisions and plans that they make for CE.

Clonaneese Young Peoples and Young Adults Service

After a break over the Christmas period, I was back on my travels as President.  Following the service with my own Junior society I travelled down the M1 and round the Ballygawley roundabout twice!! After getting lost on the new road I thankfully made my way to Clonaneese just as the service was starting.  After catching my breath and leading the opening prayer I was able to sit back, relax and enjoy the great service.  A few memorable points that night were the great crows in the Young Adults choir, and the video clips of interviews with members of the CE about what being a Christian means to them and how going to CE has influenced them.  I wish them all the best and encourage the leaders to keep up the good work

Enniskillen Young Adults CE
Had a great evening back in Fermanagh – it was like going home!! The group was small yet an enthusiastic lot! Think the chocolates helped!!

Since it was Valentines weekend we spend some time thinking about how we know God loves us and how we can tell us we love them. We also spend some time in small groups praying for each other and for the work of CE in the Local Enniskillen Union and for Irish Union, before finishing the evening with a cup of tea and some heart shaped cupcakes. YUM!

 17 and 18th February2011

Christian Resources Exhibition

CE had a stand at this exhibition. This was a great opportunity to spread the word of CE, and to tell others about what we do.  Some interesting conversations were had over the few days.  Robert had the opportunity to lead a seminar on CE- a success story waiting to happen in your Church. Pray that the seeds of these conversations will be reaped and new societies formed

18th February 2011

Joanmount This was my first visit to this CE and was great to meet an enthusiastic bunch of girls and willing leaders.  It was lovely to see the group learn a memory verse and to have some keen helpers during my talk.  Think we may have found some new Presidents!  The group were planning for upcoming rehearsals for the Talent Contest so I am looking forward to seeing the results in a few weeks time.

Please continue to pray and follow the work of an Irish CE President and pray for vacant positions in Irish Union.  You just might be the volunteer we are looking for
