YP Camp 2010

This year’s camp was at Lorne Brownie Centre for a week. The facilities were great as there was lots of room and a play park to keep us occupied. There were 31 campers which was a huge increase from past years. During the week we took part in many on site activities such as the high ropes course which was very challenging for many but it was great fun and good craic. The talks were on the Kingdom of God which helped us understand how the Bible fits together from start to finish.  We had quiet time groups each morning which consisted of 6 young people in each group, this was good as we were able to speak freely to our peers and leader about issues that affect our lives and discuss the previous night’s talk and ask questions.  We also went shopping to Belfast and watched Shrek 4 in 3D. On Friday afternoon we went to the ice-bowl and we had a choice of bowling or ice skating, during the ice skating there were many falls but no one came to any harm. There was only one winner in the bowling Adrian but as they say it’s the taking part that counts. The river run was challenging and a great group building exercise with a lot of screaming mainly from the boys! But overall it was a great time of fun and fellowship with all the old and new friends we have made.
